(All group sessions are facilitated by a CA Licensed/Associate Psychotherapist in a safe, confidential setting)
School-Age Teens who are having a difficult time adjusting to life post-pandemic. They struggle to feel happy due to ongoing symptoms of anxiety, depression, or general sadness/melancholy. They may feel disinterested in their schoolwork, socializing with friends, finding it difficult to identify what they are feeling and communicate their needs. Experimenting with substances or self-harm as a coping mechanism may also be where your teen has turned for reprieve. They may have even tried therapy and it just doesn’t seem to be enough support.
After/Continuing Care building upon the work their previous treatment program has already done with them. The family may be concerned that without the support of their teen’s treatment team and the community that was built, their teen is at risk of relapsing to old, unwanted, self-destructive thinking and behaviors. Transitioning from intensive treatment to a program that meets the current needs of the teen such as refining and strengthening critical coping skills, increase stress-tolerance and a focus on goal setting/actionable steps required to achieve them.

~ Lisa LaGuardia Fischer, MA, LMFT

Additional support is provided for families who have been impacted by the challenges facing their teen today. Multiple families come together to find a safe community with similar experiences and concerns for their loved ones. These groups are designed to initiate awareness of how each member plays a role in the family system and how small changes made to the individuals in the system can create meaningful change.
