1. How long have you been doing what you do and how did you get to be a mental health practitioner?
2. Who are your clients?
3. How are you different from other mental health therapists?
Clients say I have a calm presence that allows them to feel safe to
explore deeply rooted emotional issues that are preventing them from
experiencing real joy in their lives and achieve desired goals. I have an eclectic approach utilizing the tools of Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Solution-Focused; Motivational Interviewing; Psychodynamic and Recovery-based interventions.
4. What type of clients do you work best with?
I enjoy working with people that are willing to give up old, self-destructive thinking and behavior; are open and willing to surrender to new ideas; gain different perspectives; and are ready to make real change in their life.
5. Are you a Registered Dietician?
No, I am a Board Certified Health Counselor accredited by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. I received my training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City accredited by Columbia University Teacher’s College. Health Counselors are alternatively called Health Coaches or Nutritionists. As a Health Counselor, I look beyond counting calories and widely known for my whole body approach assessing a persons whole life. I look at what’s going on in their lives i.e. relationships, careers, physical activity, spirituality/self-love, not just the foods they eat.
6. Can sessions be done via Phone or Skype?
Yes, I conduct sessions remotely through a secure HIPPA compliant platform. If I am providing mental health services, sessions must be done within the state of California.
7. Do you take insurance?
No, however I do provide (upon request) a “Superbill” (receipt of payment) for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. I take cash, check or Venmo at the beginning of each session.
8. Do you offer any discounts?
I have dedicated spots for sliding scale clients. They are on a first come first serve basis.
9. Do you treat adolescents/teens?
Yes, I work with teens that suffer from depression, anxiety, addictions and transition to college life issues.
10. How long are the sessions?
The first initial session is approximately 1 hour. Follow up sessions are 50 minutes. Couple and family session are 1 hour and 20 minutes.
11. I don‘t know how to meditate. I can’t sit still; I have a lot of monkey chatter in my brain, what do you recommend?
If you can breathe, you can meditate! If you don’t quiet your thoughts, you can’t hear what your higher-self is trying to say to you and receive the answers to your questions. Through meditation, you will find all that you are searching for externally, i.e. love, kindness, compassion, patience, appreciation, protection, creativity, abundance, prosperity and so much more! It enables you to handle stress and unexpected circumstances much easier. Things are more likely to roll off your back much faster when you meditate.
12. Do you work with groups?
Yes, I run mental health and recovery-based educational and process groups in treatment centers across Los Angeles and Southbay. It’s an opportunity for those that want to learn from other people who are experiencing similar challenges.
13. What can I expect from working with you?
You will learn about yourself; the greatest education in the world! You will learn how to see the world differently; through new eyes. You will learn how to get conscious around all areas of your life and become fearless when needing to make necessary change. You will learn how to become one with your inner-God of your own understanding; your highest self and experience the kind of love, happiness, peace, and certainty you are worthy of. And most of all, you will develop a relationship with the most important person in your life…yourself and ultimately, find your purpose.
14. How quickly can I expect to see a difference in my life?
If you are committed to showing up for yourself, you can see a difference immediately.
15. If I‘m not sure I’m ready to get started, how can I sample your work at low cost to see if it?s the right solution for me?
Anyone interested in working with me is invited to schedule a complimentary 15 minute phone consultation with me.
